in the parable of ' the rich man ' recorded in Mt. 19:16-26 we have a doctrine
which many mistake as someone who is rich in worldly goods,
though it is plainly said of this man " he was one who owned much property. " v. 24.

since this parable deals with salvation, the riches of the rich man as far as
worldly goods was concerned is not all that is being taught by the Savior on that
occasion since the rich man had no treasure laid up in heaven, even after his
accounting of all of his good works
. v. 21

he was rich in worldly goods but bankrupt as far as his relationship to God was
concerned and he knew that good works alone were not enough.

the good works he proposed to do to as expressed in verse 16 is relevant today as
the gospels of grace freely earned flourishes in these End Times.

man, abundantly rich in his wit and wisdom seeks to enter the kingdom of God by way
of co-redemption, offering his free will choice of " making a decision for Christ "
as the means to obtaining grace freely bestowed on his free will decision which he
says, comes first.

this kind of gospel is contrary to such a verse as Acts 13:48 and others which teach
that first man is given life, then he believes.
he does not believe in Jesus of his own free will since " none seek for God " and his
being bound to Satan, sin and death prevent him from seeing the Light of the glory of
Christ in the gospel of the Bible...

" the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might
not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. " 2
Cor. 4:4.

as the tares among the wheat design a gospel befitting the rich in human faculties
and leaving out all those who do not have such riches... as those born mentally
impaired, aborted fetuses, those in a comatose state of being and the like... all
who's human will is contrary to God nonetheless... the gospel preached by the Holy
Spirit in Christ Jesus is accomplished solely by grace freely bestowed,
( Eph. 1:3-12 )

and comes to those who are bankrupt of any spiritual good they can lay claim to
have done to merit salvation by some act of their own will as the rich man of Mt.
19:16-26 so proposed.

thanks be to the Living God in Jesus Christ who freely bestows life to those who do
not merit it... " For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should
boast. " Eph. 2:8,9

the boast of having done the good works is as this rich man says...
" what good thing shall " I " do ? " ..." " I " made a decision for Christ; " I "
accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, " I " was baptized; " I " said the " sinner's
prayer. ""

" "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
and Jesus answers... " this is the work of God... that you believe in Him whom He has
sent " Jn. 6:28,29 what is the work of God and not the work of man ? ... " believing
" ... which comes after being given life by the Living God in Christ Jesus. Acts
13:48; Jn. 3:3

it is impossible, as in Mt. 19:16-26, for man to save himself by some good thing he
so assumes merits him eternal life.

It is not impossible, he had a choice to be perfect, just because he wasnt
perfect does not mean he was not saved, everybody has a choice. you have a
choice repent.
